Ibeh Onyebuchi Maxwell popularly known as Maxwell Legacy is a Nollywood actor, production manager, script writer, storyteller, television personality and poet. He is one of the most talented upcoming
filmmakers in Nigeria, apart from that, Maxwell comes from a very humble background.
Personal Life
Maxwell was born on the 20th of March 1995 in Enugu, Enugu state in the Eastern part of Nigeria. He is originally from Igbo tribe and a native of Ezeagu local government area of Enugu state Nigeria.
Maxwell was the eighth child to be born into a family of nine. He was born and raised by both his parents Mr Calistus Ibeh and Mrs. Esther Ibeh.
Maxwell was an art student during his secondary school days and one of the best students in English and Literature.
After finishing his secondary school education in his home town Enugu, Maxwell moved to the city of Onitsha with his senior sister, Christiana Ibeh with the view to further his education and actualize his dreams of joining the Nigeria movie industry.
Whilst in Onitsha, Maxwell wrote his jamb examination and proceeded to work in a hotel where he met with Nollywood movie director Sir Ifeanyi Azodo (DGN) who later advised him to quit at the hotel and join the movie industry in late 2014.
After joining the Nigeria movie industry popularly known as Nollywood, Maxwell acted his first movie titled (Royal Love). Since then, he has been featured in more than 25 movies, some of the movies include Immortal Bond, Endless Pain, Prince Gozie Okeke’s Musical Videos, Wounded Heart, My Sweat, Secret of Labista, Love Assignment, just to mention but a few.
Career
Maxwell began his career as a story writer while at secondary school; because of his passion for acting that he developed an interest in Literature and English which is why he was awarded the head of drama society at his school.
Maxwell completed both his primary and secondary school in his home town Enugu, Enugu state in the Eastern part of Nigeria where he obtained both his first School Leaving Certificate and West African Senior School Certificate. After his secondary school, he joined the movie industry in Nigeria.
After joining the movie industry, in 2018 Maxwell contested for an election held by the Production Managers’ Guild of Nigeria(PMGN) Anambra state chapter in the Eastern part of Nigeria. He also emerged the secretary of the Guild in Anambra state Nigeria. Meanwhile, Maxwell is still holding the position and he is a registered member of both Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Production Managers’ Guild of Nigeria (PMGN) and Association of Movie practitioners (AMPRAC). This led Maxwell to oversea production for Dimple and Emikings Global Film permanently, where he helped produce movies.
As a production manager in the movie industry, Maxwell has since managed more than 50 movies which include My Sweat, River of Wealth, Unforgettable Pain, Stolen Treasure, Ijele Spirit, My Journey, Wounded Heart, Julie and Jessy, internal War, The Gift of Man, and many more.
Maxwell is a creative young man whose style of writing is amazing and adorable; he has written more than 30 movies which include Julie and Jessy, Neglected Love, Chalice in the Palace, Royal Justice, Ray of
Tussle, Smear Campaign, Stolen Treasure, Lost Heritage, Stained Fortune, Black Stone, Royal Heist, Marine Students just to mention a few. Maxwell has also written more than 9 standard poems and are yet to be published which include Throttled Hope, Hit Below the Belt, The Lout, The Taskmaster, Arbitrary Rulers and others.
So far, through his career, Maxwell has acted alongside top Nollywood actors likes of Zubby Michael, Yul Edochie, Late Daddy Sam Obiagor, Ken Erics Ugo, Chinwetal AGU, Frank Arthurs, Ngozi EZEONU, Ngozi Evuka, Uche Ebere Agu and Chizzy Alichi. In addition Maxwell is doing extremely well in the industry and he’s an inspiration to the upcoming filmmakers in Nigeria.
