On March 9th, the Pan-Afrikan Reparations Internationalist Standing Conference (PARISC) will lead a delegation to the Alliance of Sahel States (AES), as part of grassroots Planet Repairs efforts to build and secure internationalist solidarity with communities who are engaged in the fight for reparatory justice and asserting their right to self-determination.

The PARISC delegation is a people to peoples’ internationalist solidarity delegation including members of the PARISC Secretariat as well as from the Leadership Facilitation Team of the Extinction Rebellion Being the Change Affinity Network (XRBCAN).

Among the supporters of the delegation are the Pan-Afrikan Reparations Youth Forum, the NjiapandaSANKOFAKUUMBA network, the Stop the Maangamizi: We Charge Genocide/Ecocide Campaign, and the Extinction Rebellion Internationalist Solidarity Network (XRISN).

The delegation will visit the countries of the AES under the banner of Co-liberation for Planet Repairs focusing on the contemporary historic importance of the resurgence of colonized Afrikan people against the forces of neocolonialism for national self-determination, Pan-Afrikan sovereignty and a multipolar world of global justice enshrined in the concept of Maatubuntuman in Ubuntudunia. The PRALER study visit will also highlight the Pan-Afrikan and Global Justice importance of gains being made by communities of the Sahel in their anti-imperialist battles which are making huge contributions to the much broader International Social Movement for Afrikan Reparations (ISMAR) in link with the Peoples Reparations International Movement.

The PARISC Secretariat is committed to mobilising international community support for the Alliance of Sahel States in their reparatory justice efforts for Planet Repairs.

Communities and interested organisations will be able to join and follow the developments of the trip through www.parisc.org and the following social media platforms:

AES member states that will be open to online participation and collaboration [link for the online registration will be provided in due course.]

The Secretariat has launched a communities’ fundraiser to build support for the delegation and to help facilitate the distribution of resources and solidarity materials with relevant Communities of Reparatory

Justice Interest in the AES states.

Piaba Madokwe, Secretariat Member said:

“The establishment of the Alliance of Sahel States is a long overdue breakthrough in the painful centuries-long history of black resistance against coloniality. For the longest time, oppressed blacks believed that the announcement of the abolishment of slavery in the late 1800s, the transition towards independence of African countries in the late 1900s, the announcement of Black Presidents and First Blacks here and there would be a turning point in our shared history. On the contrary, we are still fighting against neocolonialism, systemic racism, sanctions and war upon countries who dare say no, and the gagging and victimisation of activists worldwide should we dare express and act against the discomfort of our existence in this world. It is a moment we ought to fully own, as Afrikans and as people of Afrikan Ancestory, from Afrika and the world over. It is a thorn in the flesh coloniality we ought to not only celebrate but take as a clarion for us to find our own thorns and press from different angles until we get what is due to us, our total liberation! Through bringing the grassroots and academic communities front and centre as some of the most important participants in the conversation, this initiative by PARISC offers a chance to weave together as many individuals and movements (inspired by Pan-Afrikanism) as possible and encourage them to draw inspiration from, and support the
Alliance of Sahel States.”

Corinne Elle, Secretariat Member said:

“The impact of Afrika on my life is undeniable, and I am determined to make my voice heard. Thanks to the courage and bravery of the Alliance of the Sahel States, the renaissance of my dreams for an equitable world and my hope for global social justice has been reignited. It is all about people. We are grateful to them for restoring our dignity while we are still alive.”

Gail Bradbrook, XRBCAN said:

“I am honoured to be invited by PARISC to join the study visit delegation. As a campaigner for social, environmental and economic justice I am deeply interested in and inspired by the emergent Pan-Afrikan Decolonial struggles in the Sahel. I realise, as the civilisation I have been trained to believe is enduring and supreme, collapses, while destroying the life support systems of the Earth, that I need to cease focussing on begging our elites to do the right thing. Instead I need to focus on supporting my community to resist the harm that is done in our name (and done to us) and link to the struggles of my family across the world. The imperialist plunder of the world is for all of us to stop together, with united people’s power and repairing what we can of the damage. I am coming to learn, to support and to say that the fake democracy and extractive economics of my home country is nothing for any other country to be arrogantly told to copy.”

Aïcha Sow, PARISC Secretariat Member said:

“Our predecessors Pan-Afrikan heroes and sheroes and allied justice fighters have paved the way for us. It is a privilege to participate in the real and total liberation of Afrikan nations through the leadership of the Alliance of Sahel States.”
